Who writes this stuff?
My name is Craig Hamilton and I’m an Anglican Minister in Sydney Australia. I am the husband of but one wife, and the father of two girls and one boy.
How does this blog work?
Pretty much a new blog is posted every Monday and every Thursday. Unless I’m away on holidays or experiencing some form of crisis. What you should do is subscribe via email so you’ll be notified when a new post appears. Click the “yes please” button on the main page near the top on the left. But the blog is pretty clockwork-esque in its Tuesday and Friday schedule.
What kind of things is this blog about?
Pretty much two things: theology and leadership. if you’re interested in one or both then hey, me too! We should be friends!
Can you perhaps be more specific with what it’s about?
Can I! There are two main categories: Reflections are simply my theological thoughts on whatever topic I happen to be thinking about at the time. Plundering the Egyptians are hopefully somewhat memorable thoughts and observations on leadership that I’ve picked up from a whole variety of places and experienced their truthfulness from actually leading stuff.
Those two are the bulk of what gets posted here, but there are some other type of posts that will crop up from time to time. Sermon Spinoffs are parts of my sermons that either get cut out due to time constraints or parts of sermons that make it in to the final manuscript that I also share on here. Quotes are what they sound like: quotes from books that grab me or that have influenced me. Reasons for Hope are thoughts on why the Christian faith is rational and reasonable, particularly in the face of the New Atheists quite successful campaign to paint people who believe in God as idiotic people who can’t think and hate evidence. Bookshelf are posts where I briefly review whatever book I just, or have recently, read and give them a rating out of 5.
Where should I start?
Depends what you like. If you’d like to head to some of the most popular posts from this blog go here. If you’d like to read some quotes from people smarter and more famous than me then start here. If you’d like to jump in to some thoughts and observations about leading people then here’s a good start. But if you’re really still not sure the home page might be your best bet for maximum browsing capabilities.
Nothing really. Feel free to explore around and check stuff out. Also feel heaps free to comment on posts with thoughts or questions or just to say hi. I try really hard to respond to every comment. It doesn’t always happen like that, but rest assured I really try and if I didn’t comment in reply to your comment I swear it was just a horrible oversight. I still like you as a person.
